The Client


Eldridges Solicitors was founded in 1832 and has offices in Newport and Freshwater Isle of Wight. The company has over 30 PC users on the two sites.


The Issue


Eldridges had historically had hardware and software support from a specialist legal software company, but Eldridges found they needed more strategic assistance to understand how to make the most of their systems. They approached Cemoc in 2006 when they needed help speeding up the connections between their offices.


Cemoc Solution


Cemoc identified that their existing hardware was causing a data throughput bottleneck and were able to speed up the site-to-site links four fold. Happy with the improved connection speeds, Eldridges signed a Total System Support contract to manage the hardware and server software on both sites.


Results


Cemoc maintain Eldridges Server hardware and software, and where required liaise with software vendors for line of business application issues. Cemoc implemented a new Microsoft Exchange 2007 server on new Dell PowerEdge hardware in 2009. Eldridges value the fact that Cemoc respond quickly, and being local can be on site within a short amount of time, if required. Debbie Ambler of Eldridges says “Cemoc are proactive and give us the options so we can work through the consequences. We’ve found that buying hardware and software on an ad hoc basis can end up costing more, and Cemoc’s advice has saved us money and complications.”
